Registration is open till May 1st – hurry!
To the Sign up form here
This is what we have been waiting for and now it’s true! Registration for the Cycling for libraries is open! Read below first and then proceed to fill in the registration form.
First step – Sign up!
Registration takes place in few stages. In the first stage you sign up by leaving your contact details and answering a few questions via the registration form. A total of 100 librarians and library lovers will get a chance to take on this marvellous challenge. The first 50 people who complete the registration will directly pass the application stage.
We will keep the registration open until April (when our earliest bills are due), or until the limit of 100 is reached.
Second step – Confirmation of participation
We will confirm your participation by email no later than two weeks after you sign up. We will also send you a payment order. During the spring-season we are prepping ourselves up for our unconference-adventure so you will be hearing from us via email and keep an eye on the website too.
People who will ride all the way from Copenhagen to Berlin will have priority in the registration process. This way we can ensure the most efficient use of the common preparations for the group and make sure the most motivated people are not left out.
However Cycling for libraries is an open event, so if you take the initiative and arrange your own accommodation+food or just join the group for a short trip (1 day, 30 kilometers etc.) you can join in as you want. Bicycling, evening programme and everything else is free and open for everyone. Please fill in the registration form anyway, so we know to expect you. There is no limit to the maximum number of these “slip-streamers” or “drafters”.
The participation fee
The participation fee for Cycling for libraries is 250 Euros.
This participation fee covers accommodation, food (except suppers), services, luggage transport and naturally all the professional programme of Cycling for libraries. See here for more details.
The fee is same for everyone, whether you intend to participate on the whole event from Copenhagen to Berlin or just a part of the way; same fee, same services.
The sign up for a stage?
One and two-day participation is free. Please fill out the registration form here. You will also find the registration form from the drop-down menu. Note, that registration is not necessary for a short 1-2-day participation, but it will help the organizers tell better about the event to the media. We want to be able to tell how many people were involved, where they came from, what themes they choose to discuss etc. The event program is also free of charge for you and you are welcome to participate in the debates! Catering and accommodation services are reserved for the 100 participants who will attend for the whole or half journey, so please be sure that you have the opportunity to dine during your trip and that you have booked accommodation, if your trip lasts more than a day.
Questions?
Still got questions about the registration process? Post them as comments below and we’ll answer them as soon as possible.
Good, now hurry off to fill the registration form, this unique unconference is limited to only 100 full participants (and this project is getting a lot of international attention, so places will be filled quickly)!!

hello,
good idea, but how many kilometres will you ride a day max. (seems to me to be quite a long tour!)?
best wishes
katrin
Hello Katrin. You can see the route and stops on this page. The total is about 650km, and we spend total 9 days on it, so it’s not bad at all, averaging at about 70km which isnt’ bad at all. The last day is the longest (but we have most time), when we push from Fürstenberg/Havel to Berlin.
When is the time we should be in Copenhagen for the starting of the event?
Hello Dierk. The start will be on Saturday, May 28, hopefully about 12 am, so it would be good to be there on time because the formation and the general organization of the cycling groups, declaring the guidelines for the participants and distribution of variety of equipments to them will take time. There are lots of things to do. Take these factors into account when you plan your schedule. A more detailed timetable will be announced later.
Hi,
Why are you asking one’s age in the registration form?
Age is not a selection criterion, if that is what you mean, Leena. Age is, however, interesting information. For example, times have changed and we are facing now different problems and challenges than 10-12 years ago. It is interesting to know how people have kept up the pace. And that’s why the dialogue between generations is important. If we can somehow encourage it here, it’s good.
Good way to disseminate the knowledge between society of different nation.
I cant participate this year – Holiday already arranged, but hope that You make one next year, where I can participate!
Hopefully next year! If happen to be around where the Copenhagen-Køge-Præstø-Stubbekøbing-Nykøbing-Gedser -route goes when we are riding, come and meet us for a bit if you can. We have some programme in Nykøbing f.ex. Or maybe another time
